2018 is all about starting new traditions for Eric & I. Think: quesadilla Mondays, Christmas dates vs. gifts, @letterfolk messages in the morning, and @officialsurvivor_cbs Wednesdays at home with family.

We’re also excited to start our own “year in review” to send out to family and friends!

I can’t believe tomorrow is the last day of my first semester teaching. These past 15 weeks have challenged me to adapt and reflect on my view of education. I like to think of teaching as a means to ‘getting your license.’ In this regard, I became an over-protective, loving helicopter “parent” to 26 college freshman students this year. As their instructor, I hoped to gift my students with the 'keys’ to feel empowered enough to take the wheel and start the engine of their own education beyond the walls of my classroom. And honestly, I’ve found students are like wet cement; whatever falls on them leaves an impression. While I can only hope I was able to make a positive impact on their attitude toward learning, I am truly aware of the profound impression they’ve left on the person I’m becoming. And for that I am truly thankful and humbled to have had this unique opportunity.
